This privacy policy describes how the SEORig Chrome extension ("SEORig," "we," "the extension") handles information when you use it. SEORig is designed to minimize data use and to keep analysis in your browser.
SEORig is a Chrome extension that helps you audit the SEO of webpages you visit. It opens a side panel where you can see an on-page SEO report (title, meta description, headings, links, images, schema) and use tools such as a SERP simulator and prompt generator. The extension only runs when you open it and click "Refresh" on a page you choose.
Page content (SEO audit): When you open the SEORig side panel and click "Refresh," the extension reads the current tab's page content (e.g. title, meta tags, headings, links, images) from the page's DOM in your browser. This data is used only to generate the SEO report shown in the side panel. It is not sent to our servers or to any third party. It is processed entirely in your browser.
Current tab URL: The extension uses the URL of the page you are analyzing to display it in the report and, if you use export or the prompt generator, that URL may be included in the text you copy or export. That copy/export stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
Some builds of SEORig include an optional "Performance" tab that can load PageSpeed Insights or CrUX data. If that feature is enabled, the extension may send the current page URL or origin to a proxy server configured by the developer (e.g. the publisher's own server). That server may then request data from Google's APIs. The extension does not send your data to Google directly. Use of this feature is optional. If you do not use "Load performance data," no URL is sent for this purpose.
The extension uses Chrome's storage API only to save your dark mode preference (on or off) so it persists across sessions. No personal or page content is stored.
The extension requests the following permissions for the purposes stated:
We do not execute remote code. All extension code is bundled in the extension package.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised when we do. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
